Too Many Curtains And Never Sufficient Motifs

The kitchen in every single location I have lived in has been a place where I love to be, even though my current one is too small to spend any time in. It seems like every kitchen that I have lived in recently has been equipped with the smallest windows imaginable and as a result has left me with a selection of only small window shades. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I can never find window treatments that I adore.

Lately I have spent way more time than I should need to looking for window treatments for my kitchen. I find this to be utterly ridiculous but it is very true. I have searched high and low for the perfect set of kitchen draperies, and I have yet to find anything that I like. It should be something as easy as just simply selecting a appropriate color pattern that will match whatever colors are in my kitchen, but nothing is working. I have to be able to enjoy my drapes though as they are something that I am going to have to look at on a daily basis. Sometimes I have a tough time finding the perfect window treatments for all of the other windows in my home, but those kitchen shades are the ones that really drive me crazy.

I do have some drapes on my dining room windows, but looking at them is not something that pleases me. They are one solid color, and I was hoping to find something with a pattern. It is a rather silly thing to whine about I know, but searching at them just brings me down and makes me feel glum.

I have noticed that I am not the only person that has this problem, The other person who suffers from the same fate that I am in and probably gave it to me via her genes is my mother. She can never find a kitchen curtain that she likes either and is perpetually changing them. Granted, my mother spent half of her life in her kitchen, so it makes sense that she is never satisfied.

Even though I am not much of a seamstress, I may have to give in and make my own kitchen draperies. I am going to say those famous last words, “It can’t be that hard right?”. You really wouldn’t think that it would be. There is plenty of fabric out there that I know I like as I have seen it and told myself that it would make a fabulous kitchen curtain. I am just going to have to break down and do it if I cannot find something that I will be happy with soon. The skill for sewing curtains is something that I am not afraid of following, it is simply the fact that there is no sewing machine in my possession. This means my sewing will be done by hand. In the end, my kitchen drapes may end up looking like pillowcases, but at least they will be the pattern I want.

Perhaps you might be in the mood for apple kitchen shades
